Description
Spanish Lessons P51-100 videos, course notes and tests, after Practice Lessons up to 50 purchased. These intensive online lessons were developed in cooperation with JSS classroom students who completed the third and final year of the classroom course.
These extra lessons are just for extra listening and speaking practice. (It do not contain any coursework necessary to speak Spanish.)
They are just practice and, above all, very interesting, and some people get addicted to these lessons like a Netflix series, wanting more…
James lifts the level and speed from Practice Lessons 51-74 and adds some very interesting additional content.
But then the challenge increases. In the real word Spanish diction varies wildly, and you need to be able to cope with this.
Of these extra practice videos, the last 25 are done with James content but with different Spanish people, almost all professional voice over actors, (although one is James’ daughter, then at age 12) selected because of their often quite strong regional accents and delivery style. Spanish natives from Madrid, Malaga, Cadiz, Seville, Granada, Murcia, Baza, Cordoba. James has painstakingly developed the content of these lessons, providing ever-increasing challenges.
From Lesson 90 onwards, the content shifts remarkably, with information-rich content on Spain to Spanish history, geography and culture. This means that the advanced students learn a great deal about the country while continuing their Spanish language practice. (It also means they will never be beaten in a Quiz night where the subject is Spain)
This final package in the James Spanish School course includes a host of new learning aids and a lot of audio content, perfect for revising on the move. The number quiz is addictive, and finally, the third 100 verbs round out the course. (These verbs can also be found in WordAmigo)
Reviews from PL51-100 students
John Kitson – After completing the 100 online lessons with James, I had a real urge to continue advancing—especially in understanding rapid-fire conversations! The advanced course (SPL 51–100) tunes your ear to faster dialogue and different Spanish accents, which has been a huge help. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to take the next step in their learning.
Ruth Robinson – I found the cultural differences, history, and geography extremely helpful. While the different accents were difficult at first, slowing down the speed really helped. I thoroughly enjoyed my learning journey and would recommend it 1000%.
Roslyn Souter – The second half of the Spoken Spanish Practice (Lessons 51–100) significantly enhanced what I learned in the first 50 lessons. Because these lessons feature different presenters—native Spanish citizens—it gives learners the opportunity to hear a variety of accents and speaking speeds. It truly assists the learner in “tuning in” to the speakers. Even now, after 100 lessons, I appreciate the repetition in Spanish; I can recognise much more on a second listening before it’s translated, and a third pass really solidifies the meaning. Plus, the knowledge I’ve gained about Spanish culture is a fantastic bonus.
Chris Cargon – As I reached the end of Spoken 1–50, I realised that while I’d progressed, I needed continued exposure to hearing and understanding more Spanish. James told me about the additional 51–100 lessons, which I bought without hesitation. For me, it wasn’t just an extension but a continuation of the learning process; it’s where I finally stopped translating in my head and started truly understanding what I was hearing. While James’s clear diction is easy to follow, the transition to new voices and accents from Lesson 75 was a real challenge—particularly the Andalusian accent from Cádiz! The interesting foray into James’s pasatiempos at Casa Bretherton (I won’t spoil it for you) was an enlightening bonus. If you’ve come as far as Lesson 50, it would be a missed opportunity not to continue the journey. I highly recommend it.
Dominic Hewitt -Where the first 50 lessons give you the foundation, courage, and fortitude to go forth and practise your craft, the second 50 spoken lessons are the key to truly unlocking everything you have learned. Returning items to shops and navigating random conversations with “Spaniards in the wild” becomes much less scary and significantly easier.
Mary-Lou Curley I have found the 75+ videos very good. Listening to the different accents is great and helps a lot when I am out and about; I’ve found I am much better at picking up on conversations. I also find the cultural information and the little tips on living in Spain to be incredibly valuable.
